I posted an article<\/a> about the importance and benefits of having a blog on your website. \u00a0We went over why it’s important to keep up with it, touched on how often, and what it can do for your business. \u00a0While writing the article I came up with a lot of stuff, so I thought I’d pull out a portion of it for it’s own blog post. \u00a0I know I have the attention span of a goldfish and I’m sure many of you do too. \u00a0They’re tips\u00a0and ideas for\u00a0writing articles and posts that your clients and potential clients will love.<\/p>\n

HubSpot<\/a> (via MarketingProf’s<\/a>) showed some statistics that companies who write \/ post 15 blog posts a month see five times the traffic of companies that don’t have a blog. \u00a0The thought of\u00a0creating 15 blog posts\u00a0will be time consuming (and may not be\u00a0necessary,) but there’s also<\/em> the thought of,\u00a0“What the hell am I going to write about!?”<\/em>\u00a0 Remember, and I’ve\u00a0said it before<\/a>, you’re the\u00a0master of your business. \u00a0You should know more about\u00a0your business\u00a0then anyone else\u00a0(that’s what should set you apart from the pack.)<\/em>\u00a0\u00a0If you don’t, then you should at least have access to the answers…and\u00a0I’m pretty sure if I followed you around for a week I could point out at least a dozen subjects that would be\u00a0perfect blog posts! \u00a0Therefore, you\u00a0are\u00a0a valuable tool to your\u00a0customers\u00a0and a great selling point to\u00a0potential customers. \u00a0Below you’ll find some quick ideas for blog posts…<\/p>\n

What’s Common To You Isn’t Common To Everyone<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Some creative thoughts for your blog may be the simplest things like\u00a0industry updates. \u00a0Sometimes I\u00a0write blog posts\u00a0that seem like common knowledge, but clients have been thrilled to receive the information. \u00a0You do have all the information in your head. \u00a0You just need to find the time…and get it out ‘on paper!’<\/p>\n

Your Opinions Matter<\/strong><\/h2>\n

You can even talk about your own\u00a0personal opinions\u00a0about a topic or a subject. \u00a0Your opinion matters and people who do not know about your industry are actually\u00a0looking for someone they can trust!\u00a0\u00a0There’s a reason why listeners feel so close to the DJ’s they listen to on the radio. \u00a0Many of them feel a\u00a0personal connection\u00a0to the DJ because they ‘share time’ with that DJ every day. \u00a0Your\u00a0blog allows you to connect with your ‘listeners.’ \u00a0So just give them your opinions.<\/p>\n

Customer Service On Your Blog<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Sometimes the easiest way to get started is to think about the\u00a0misconceptions\u00a0or ‘complaints’ someone has about your business. \u00a0If someone doesn’t understand how a certain\u00a0feature,\u00a0product\u00a0or\u00a0service\u00a0works and you find yourself on the phone explaining it\u00a0all the time…then it may be the\u00a0perfect topic for a blog post. \u00a0Example: \u00a0THIS BLOG POST!<\/em><\/p>\n

History Matters<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The\u00a0history of your business\u00a0industry might be interesting to some people. \u00a0Not only does it show that you’re\u00a0‘well versed’<\/em>\u00a0in your in industry, but it also shows that you have the\u00a0knowledge to lead other people to success. \u00a0A while ago I did a post that was simply an archive of\u00a0vintage ad’s<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Resources You Respect<\/strong><\/h2>\n

All these tips I’m writing for you are all because I saw a simple stats article on\u00a0MarkingProf’s. \u00a0I have no problem and\u00a0prefer\u00a0to share the resources I go to. \u00a0They can provide valuable information to my clients who are seeking that ‘extra edge’ above the competition. \u00a0So feel free to share the resources you respect, but make sure why you tell them why!<\/p>\n

Be Selfish<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Sometimes I simply write a\u00a0blog post\u00a0so I don’t forget where I found it, or I simply want to have easy access too it. \u00a0If it’s something\u00a0I\u00a0<\/em>don’t want to forget, then it’s a pretty safe bet that someone else is the world wants to remember it too.<\/p>\n

Picture Perfect!<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Sometimes pictures are a perfect way to fill up a\u00a0blog post. \u00a0If you’re\u00a0redecorating your office, you can keep your clients updated with the progress. \u00a0If you get a\u00a0new product\u00a0or have started offering a\u00a0new service\u00a0then it might be the perfect opportunity to snap a few\u00a0pictures.<\/p>\n

New! New! New!<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Speaking of\u00a0new products\u00a0and\u00a0services…Got something new that you offer. \u00a0Bingo! \u00a0Explain exactly what it is and why it will benefit your\u00a0potential clients…search engines\u00a0love it.<\/p>\n
