The Problem!<\/h2>\n

Do you have a small business<\/strong>? \u00a0How about a medium sized business<\/strong>? \u00a0Word-of-mouth<\/strong> can be great but at some point business will<\/em> start slowing down. \u00a0Furthermore, how are you suppose to get new customers<\/strong> to get positive Word-of-mouth<\/strong> started? \u00a0How are you suppose to get people in the door? \u00a0If you had an unlimited amount of money you would think about hiring someone to do some outside sales<\/strong>. \u00a0You know, make some cold calls<\/strong> to get people into your store. \u00a0Have someone ‘hit the pavement’<\/em> to drum up some more business.<\/p>\n

The first problem is, most people don’t have the training to set up a sales force<\/strong>, especially is you’re a mom ‘n pop shop<\/strong>. \u00a0The second problem is you probably don’t have the money to pay a ‘qualified<\/em>‘ sales person<\/strong>. \u00a0So then what’s the solution?<\/p>\n

The Answer Is Advertising!<\/h2>\n

The answer is<\/em> advertising<\/strong> and it doesn’t matter what kind of advertising<\/strong> you do either. \u00a0Whether it’s the people reading a magazine<\/strong> or newspaper<\/strong>, or the\u00a0listenership<\/strong>\u00a0of a radio station<\/strong>, every advertising medium has an audience!<\/strong> \u00a0That means the advertising medium<\/strong> is your sales force<\/strong>!<\/p>\n

WRNJ Radio<\/strong><\/a> has 40,000 listeners per week. \u00a0That means WRNJ is<\/strong><\/em> a sales force that can send your message<\/strong> to 40,000 listeners<\/strong> every single week. \u00a0If you’re paying $800<\/strong> per month for advertising on the radio then you’re technically paying $9,600<\/strong> (a year) for a sales force<\/strong> that will ‘cold call’<\/em> 40,000 people a year. \u00a0You can take it one step further and break it down to $0.24<\/strong> per cold call. \u00a0That’s not too bad and way cheaper than paying a sales person $30,000<\/strong> a year (or more) and commissions.<\/p>\n

But what if you don’t even have $800 per month<\/strong>…for a year?<\/p>\n

It Doesn’t Have To Cost A Lot!<\/h2>\n

$800<\/strong> isn’t that much when it comes to your advertising budget<\/strong> (or at least it shouldn’t be,) but I understand that small business’ don’t always have that kind of money laying around. \u00a0To be honest, if someone asked me to spend that kind of money for advertising I don’t know if I could afford it. \u00a0Luckily, you have to spend that kind of money (although it technically will end up costing more.)<\/em> \u00a0Let’s take a look…<\/p>\n

Now technically the total cost is $1,827<\/strong> and that’s for 3,000<\/strong> ‘impressions<\/em>.’ \u00a0That’s about $0.61<\/strong> per person. \u00a0Told you that radio advertising<\/strong> would technically be cheaper<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

While radio is cheaper<\/strong>, it only cost me $522<\/strong> to get going for 100 impressions<\/strong>. \u00a0I can live with that…<\/p>\n

The Point<\/h2>\n

The point is advertising is important to your business because it is your sales force, every advertising medium<\/strong> has an audience<\/strong>. \u00a0No matter how big or small, you need to let other people know what you’ve got and what sets you apart from the pack<\/strong>. \u00a0Now, think out of the box and get started!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"

I Heart Blank<\/strong> recently designed<\/strong><\/a> and purchased<\/strong><\/a> three sets of post cards<\/strong>. \u00a03,000<\/strong> post cards cost $477<\/strong>. \u00a0Then I bought a roll of Stamps<\/strong><\/a> at the Post Office. \u00a0Those cost me $45<\/strong>. \u00a0Now when I see a new business<\/strong> in town, I take one of the post cards and send it out to that business. \u00a0Easy peasy!<\/p>\n
