I often have a\u00a0hard time<\/strong>\u00a0convincing\u00a0small businesses that they should be blogging<\/strong>. \u00a0It can be time consuming\u00a0and<\/em>\u00a0frustrating but it’s worth it in the long run. \u00a0I believe that many people decide\u00a0not<\/strong>\u00a0to blog the same way they decide\u00a0not<\/strong>\u00a0to advertise. \u00a0When you blog, you’re essentially spending you time or money on something with no ‘guarantee’ that it will pay-off. \u00a0It’s actually a type of\u00a0risk analysis<\/strong><\/em>. \u00a0You’re weighing your time (or money) to the potential ROI.<\/p>\n

I try to convince people that their efforts will pay off in the long run. \u00a0I let them know that\u00a01-in-4 google searches are local<\/a>, or that if you\u00a0post 9 times per month<\/a>, you can generate 3X the traffic you currently have. \u00a0All of this, of course, will not happen over night (just like advertising,) but it’s important to the long term success of your business. \u00a0There’s also the microcosm of Twitter and Facebook that,\u00a0if you’re\u00a0sincere<\/a>,\u00a0can help increase your online presence.<\/p>\n
