All right. I’m into this article<\/a> for two reasons. #1 – it’s just a good article about getting the perfect domain<\/strong><\/a>. #2 – Jane Porter<\/strong><\/a> mentions Jersey in the first example. For many reasons I’m a big proponent of domains<\/strong>. Many times I’m a big proponent of having a few domains, <\/strong>I mean…they’re pretty cheap<\/strong><\/a>. \u00a0<\/strong>Why wouldn’t you have at least two!<\/p>\n

I’ve suggested multiple domains<\/strong> to multiple people<\/strong> over the years. Just today I was sitting down with a graphic design company<\/strong> who has a little niche product that is really great. I suggested she purchase a specific domain for that product that directly points to that page on her website. That way when she does advertising<\/strong><\/a> she can put that domain<\/strong> right in the ad. Great idea and great product. I hope we move forward with the project so I can show it to you. Other times for smaller businesses<\/strong> I’ve recommended buying a domain<\/strong> that points (or forwards) directly to their Facebook<\/strong><\/a> account.<\/p>\n

It’s at this point that we have to put our thinking caps on and think of something real clever to buy. Other times it’s easy…for example, WRNJ Radio<\/strong><\/a> had come up with a great campaign for a restaurant called “Prickly Pear,” where a woman sang “I Feel Prickly…oh, so Prickly.”<\/em> When it was time for us to buy a domain<\/strong> and set up a website<\/strong> we bought two domains<\/strong>; ifeelprickly.com<\/strong> and pricklypearrestaurant.com<\/strong>. I think it worked out pretty well because it was\u00a0a great way to get people to remember it!<\/p>\n

Note: \u00a0<\/strong>The restaurant has since closed down due to unrelated circumstances.<\/em><\/p>\n

Anyway, I think it’s time to get to this article that Entrepreneur.com<\/a><\/strong> put it. It’s called Do’s and Don’ts of Securing A Domain Name<\/em><\/strong>. It’s a really good article that hopefully will help you think of the perfect domain name<\/strong> for you business<\/strong>. We’ll go over the bullet points but I really recommend clicking thru to read the reasons (and I don’t really wanna copy and paste the whole article):<\/p>\n
