By |2017-11-21T23:28:14+00:00April 5th, 2013|Business|Comments Off on When Is Advertising The Enemy?

By |2017-11-21T23:30:29+00:00March 30th, 2013|Business|Comments Off on Your “Fans” Are The Reason You’re In Business

So I started writing this article and I went on so many different 'side rants' that I decided to break them up into a 'series' of posts about how closely knit being in a band is with 'the business world.'  Here's part one... Sometimes you hear typical stories [...]

Distractions, distractions, distractions.  Coinscidentally (and ironically) this blog post may have distracted you.  I was distracted today when I saw an article on Lifehacker titled, "Research Shows How Much a Three Second Distraction Can Derail Your Work."  According to the research by Michigan State University, being distracted for as little as 2.8 seconds can cause you make more errors in your work.  In fact, it can cause you to make twice as many errors in your work.  Here's what happened: Study participants were asked to perform a series of tasks in order, such as identifying with a keystroke whether a [...]

Entrepreneurship The Iron Maiden Way

By |2017-11-21T23:30:52+00:00December 10th, 2012|Business|Comments Off on Entrepreneurship The Iron Maiden Way

I was updating The Albatross when I came across a video about Entrepreneurship. It was a great video about how entrepreneurs are different. Heck, the featured speaker was a little different, or at least not the first (or second) person you'd think to be giving a keynote. The featured speaker was Iron Maiden's lead singer Bruce Dickinson. What you may not know is that Bruce Dickinson is a certified pilot (and often flys the band to their shows) who recently founded Cardiff Aviation and has helped make jobs available for 1,000 workers in Whales.

Do you know what TLD is?  Don't be too embarrassed.  It stands for 'Top Level Domain' and to put it simply it's what comes after the "." in your domain name.  It could be a .com, or a .net...and even and .us.  If you'd like to be a nerd then you can find out more on Wikipedia.  You can also get a brief history of gTLD's (or Generic TLD's) that were first introduced in the 80's on the  ICANN website.  These included the ever popular .com, .net, .org, .edu, .gov, .int and .mil.   Enough about TLD's though, let's get [...]
